By integrating a compound reduction cam with a complete complement of needle-bearing cam followers, certain cycloidal speed reducers provide minimal backlash. Cycloidal gearing ensures continuous and dispersed power-transmission contact for improved stress resistance than standard reducers due to the pin-and-gear arrangement. Certain versions can survive quadrupling their rated torque under temporary exposure. High torque density allows for ratios of up to 1851 in small gearboxes.
