Global Propyl Acetate Market Size By Product (Purity≥99.5%, Purity≥ 99.0%), By Application (Paints And Coatings, Printing Ink, Cosmetics And Personal Care), By Geographic Scope And Forecast
Propyl Acetate Market Size And Forecast
Propyl Acetate Market size was valued at USD 280.8 Million in 2023 and is projected to reach USD 402.4 Million by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 5.5% from 2024 to 2030.
The rising use of nail care products as a fashion statement is likely to push the Propyl Acetate Market demand to new heights. It is also extensively used as a solvent in paints & coatings applications. The product may be a good solvent for this industry because it exhibits an excellent ability to thin many other organic compounds. In the printing industry, the merchandise finds its major use in special screening prints and flexography. This will foster market demand. The Global Propyl Acetate Market report provides a holistic evaluation of the market. The report offers a comprehensive analysis of key segments, trends, drivers, restraints, competitive landscape, and factors that are playing a substantial role in the market.
Global Propyl Acetate Market Definition
Propyl acetate is an ester and is also referred to as propyl ethanoate. It is a clear, colorless liquid commonly used in fragrances and as a flavor additive. Normal propyl acetate (also referred to as n-propyl acetate or 1-propyl acetate) is a compound with the formula C5H10O2. It is formed by the esterification of acetic acid and 1-propanol (known as a condensation reaction), often using Fischer–Speier esterification process. In this reaction, sulfuric acid acts as a catalyst, and water is produced as a byproduct. Propyl acetate is found in apples. It is a flavoring agent.
It belongs to the family of acid esters. These are acid derivatives during which an atom from the group is attached to an alkyl or oaryl moiety through an oxygen atom (forming an ester group). Propyl acetate is used primarily as a solvent for liquid, rotogravure printing inks, and flexographic printing inks. Its other applications incorporate wood lacquers, coatings, nail care products, aerosol sprays, cosmetics, and fragrances. The solvency and inability of propyl acetate are comparable to ethyl acetate. It dissolves several natural and artificial resins (for example, nitrocellulose, acrylates, alkyl resins, plasticizers, waxes, oils, and fats) and is thus a particularly suitable solvent for wood lacquers and industrial finishes.
