G meter is an electromechanical device used to measure acceleration forces i.e. either static or dynamic. They are popularly known as an accelerometer. Static forces include gravity while dynamic forces include vibrations and movements. The acceleration is determined using capacitive plate movement among each other. G meters are also used to identify how quickly an object can speed up and slow down within a given time frame. Various ways for the functioning of accelerometers include piezoelectric effect and capacitance sensing.
