The Plasterboard Market is expected to reach 16.95 billion square meters in 2025 and grow at a CAGR of 6.19% to reach 22.88 billion square meters by 2030.

The global plasterboard market is projected to register growth at a robust rate during the forecast period, 2023-2027. The market growth can be attributed to the rise in construction activities, growing urbanization and emergence of environment-friendly construction techniques. Plasterboards offer unique properties such as insulation to sound and heat, impact resistance, and moisture resistance. The demand for plasterboards is increasing significantly owing to superior quality, low-cost, and ease of installation. Besides, strong demand for dry construction methods over wet methods is augmenting the market growth. Rise in personal disposable income of the middle-class population is facilitating the expansion of middle-class housing segment, which in turn, is expected to accelerate the adoption of plasterboards during the forecast period. Moreover, high investment in the construction sector by private players and governments to advance infrastructure is acting a major driver for the growing adoption of plasterboards. Furthermore, emergence of new and improved varieties of plasterboards by key players are likely to fuel the growth of the global plasterboard market in the coming years. However, poor acceptance of plasterboard among end users due to pre-conditioned mindsets about plasterboards and lack of recyclability of plasterboard might act as a restraining factor for the growth of the global plasterboard market in the coming years.
